Nuthatch

I was pleased to discover that the Nuthatch normally resident in the woodland that runs along the Northern edge of the Parkland where I walk, still resides there in small numbers.
I observed three together there in recent days.
I am able to gauge their presence as they frequently visit a tree stump in that woodland where people leave bird food out.
I have certainly observed them there now for quite a number of years.

I like the presentation of "which way is up"!
It fits that species perfectly! LOL!
I have made few photos up to now: the weather is too mild, they stay in the woods.
    Cheers, keep well!

  15. A very beautiful little bird. Nothing more fun then watching a nuthatch go up and down the tree. They are so intent on where they are going and what they are doing. Just a joy to watch. Great photos of this one. Looks like our Red-breasted Nuthatch.

  19. ...these photos are wonderful. You can pick up their snappy little way of moving from the series--nuthatches are hard to photograph sometimes because of that movement! Love this fella's coloring as well.

  20. I know I say it every time but I am so envious of your Nuthatches (we have none here in East Yorkshire) and this series of photos is fantastic :-)
