Return to the Rowan Tree

I said in a previous post after visiting some Rowan Trees in the Parkland that I must return there again, as there was plenty of bird feeding activity and if I did so on a brighter day that would be an advantage.

This is the result of my visit and as you can see the male Bullfinch was putting in a stirling performance.

Lumix GH3. 100-300mm lens. 1/500 at f8. 300mm(600). ISO320

  1. WOW - excellent pics of a real beauty Roy...
the GH3/100-300 combo must be quite fast focusing?

    1. Thanks Tricia. The 100-300 is pretty good in good light, but does not have the same performance as the 35-100 or the 12-35. However, for the price its pretty good.

    1. The light certainly helped Trevor as that particular lens performs better with it.

These pics are amazing, especially the first ones with this gorgeous male in flight to catch a bay!

  9. Truly wonderful photos, Roy. The colors are so intense and you captured so much of the bird's personality.

  10. It's such a relief that we had so many berries this year and that it's been mild weather wise, the birds have plenty of food and I hope it stays that way. I've not had as many visitors to my feeders so far as I did last year at this time, so I'm saving money too!!!
