A few scenes and bird images taken on my recent Parkland Walk when for a change the Sun shone.
Have been saving this to compensate for all the dull days we have had.{:))

  1. Great variety of birdlife. I think the berries are not poisonous to birds, as the seed passes straight through them - at least I have some memory of reading that once!
Lovely to see a bit of sun too!

Indeed the sun has been absent too long here too!
Your pics are fantastic, such a lovely place to enjoy a cold sunny winter day!
    Cheers, Roy!

  3. We've certainly had our share of grey days lately so I enjoyed that little outing. I've always wondered whether certain birds use one eye to look out for danger while the other checks their background for camouflage purposes. No way of really knowing for sure, I suppose.

    1. Thanks John, I think their eyesight is pretty good and about 20 times better than ours.
They spend most of their time on the look out for predators more than anything else.

  4. I enjoyed these photos, Roy! Particularly the shot of the berries and all the smaller woodland birds - they never sit still yet they're frozen beautifully in your images!

    1. Hi Pete, I have added a few settings to some images. They were all taken on the Pan 35-100mm f2.8 lens. (apart from the Blackbird, Heron and two Blue Tits which were taken on the 100-300mm) .

    2. Also the Chaffinch was on the 100-300mm.

  7. Lovely photos of your walk, Roy. There have been so many dark days recently, it is wonderful to see some bright sunshine at last. I love the shy Mallard and the Blackbird with a beak full of berry!

There are a lot of Wigeon around now, not seen any of the American species though.
