Little Bird - Big Claws

One bird that has climbing off to a fine art - The Treecreeper.

With its large claws it can climb up tree trunks and hang upside down on branches with ease.

It is also well equipped with a long curled beak that it uses to prize open bark to search for insects.

Shot on a separate occasion this treecreeper in an unusual pose.

Getting the Weed

No not that kind of weed!

Just managed to capture the 'Weed Dance' by this pair of Great-crested Grebes this week.

Not the greatest of light at the time and I didn't have time to change to spot metering, but here is the best of the bunch.

More Bullfinch

More shots of the Bullfinch. 

They can be found frantically feeding on new buds and shoots that are starting to emerge. 

This means they don't mind being approached a little closer now.

Unfortunately Mrs Bullfinch was rather shy as usual.
