I know from comments that some of my readers like to see images from my walks so here is a batch from another recent walk
More riders from the local Riding Stables below.
They have quite a wide variety of rides in the area, which I would think is really good if you like that pursuit.
I will stick to walking and cycling I think. The last time I rode a horse which was many years ago, the stirrups were too long, I won't enlarge on that subject.{:))
The Instructor kept saying "Up down", "Up down", "Up down".
Yeah right!
Reflections
An immature Robin perched in the sunshine.
Black-headed Gull
Common Fleabane - not a great name for a flower.
Joe Crow that thinks he may be a Magpie.
Its not unusual to see Crows with some white feathers.
Large White Butterfly
Common Blue Butterfly
Wild Oats mixed in with other foliage always make an attractive scene I think.
More Reflections
Acorns in good shape.
Willowherb
Blackberries are ripening.
Cow Parsley seeding.
A Hawkweed I think.
A nice series of photos. Today, alas, doesn't seem as if it's going to be a walking day.
ReplyDeleteThanks John, yes the rain is just hanging over us most of the day today.
DeleteI've always thought it must be nice to be on horse back and look over hedges but when they pass me in the village I think; that looks a long way to fall and I don't bounce as well as I used to.
ReplyDeleteYes I know what you mean John.
DeleteRoy, I can tell that your horse riding experience has left a lasting impression on your...er?...mind!
ReplyDeleteA lovely colourful set of images from your walk...[;o)
Thanks Trevor.{:))
DeleteYou've really caught the season here, Roy.
ReplyDeleteIsn't fleabane supposed to get rid of fleas?
Thanks Alison, not sure I want to find out if it does get rid of fleas or not.{:))
DeleteAh, it is good to get out. The activities on your land are not much different that what happens here.
ReplyDeleteYes you need to get out Steve, as much as possible.
DeleteHI Roy I felt I was on this walk with you. A wonderful varied collection of things to see. Great views, reflections wildflowers and critters.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of late summer images. The colors are so vivid.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wilma.
DeleteLooks like a lovely walk and your photos are great, have not recorded Common Fleabane..
ReplyDeleteAmanda xx
Thanks Amanda. The Fleabane is pretty common around here.
DeleteHey Roy... I love the water reflection shot's, and the flowers with the water in the back ground....hmmm I wonder if that is because I would love to be in a lake swimming, and floating around. It is 95 degrees and sultry with bad air quality alerts here. It will be like this for the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteI love blackberries. Do you ever grab a few and pop them in your mouth? :} I would !!!
I have never been on a horse, not my idea of a fun ride. ;}
Beautiful walk !!!
Grace
Thanks GG.
DeleteYes I definitely try the blackberries of course.{:))
I did horse riding when I was a teenager but I fell off twice so I gave it up. Lovely selection of pictures, I like the reflection ones and the wild oats does make a nice picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lyn.
DeleteNice selection of photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks FG.
DeleteI love horse riding, but don't get to do it often and yes you can see so much from the back of a horse, but taking photos would be challenging! It was great to see your walk in images. I thought the photo after the Robin looked like a giant spider coming out of the water!
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzie, yes that reed sticking up out of the water did look unusual.
DeleteFormidable série Roy, déplumée ta pie :))
ReplyDeleteMerci Nathalie.
DeleteI enjoyed this virtual walk with you! :-)
ReplyDeleteRoy, what a pretty walk! This is surely a summery post! and all I can say about that horse back ride with the stirrups too long is, Ouch!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathie. Its not so summery this week unfortunately.
DeleteRemarkable!...
ReplyDeleteAnd those with the reflections... are sublime!...
Thanks Ana.
