Nuthatch

I was pleased to discover that the Nuthatch normally resident in the woodland that runs along the Northern edge of the Parkland where I walk, still resides there in small numbers. 

I observed three together there in recent days. 

I am able to gauge their presence as they frequently visit a tree stump in that woodland where people leave bird food out.  

I have certainly observed them there now for quite a number of years.

A Frosty Morn

The outside air temperature registered on the car when I started out was '0' degrees celsius at 0915. 

It didn't exceed '5' degrees celsius during the day.

Linnet

Walking along a pathway lined on both sides by very high bushes, I could hear a certain bird song coming from the top of the tall bushes which I had not heard for a while. 

This was coming from a small flock of Linnet (Carduelis cannabina). 

As I moved closer they would fly off and perch again further along the pathway. 

I was eventually able to shoot a few record images through the branches.

Lesser Redpoll I think, but they are not easy to differentiate sometimes, not for me anyway.{:))
