A visit to the Lodmoor Reserve Weymouth produced a very poor 'Record Image' of a Stone Curlew and a much better image of a resident female Kingfisher. The weather was very dull and a cold wind was also blowing of the sea front.
It is the first time I have seen Stone Curlew so I had to post these images.
I found this female Kingfisher fishing in a small drain area at the edge of the Reserve.
This Grey Heron found a nice sheltered area from the cold wind.
The little Egret spent all of his time fishing in shallow water.
A dull day for flight shots, but I was able to produce these after some post production work.
The Golden Plover flock remained on the water and didn't fly up at all during the time I was there.
Shooting through a hedgerow and reeds I captured the Black-tailed Godwit and the Common Snipe feeding on a small patch of ground surrounded by water.
You can usually find one or two Great White Egret on the Reserve.
The weather became much colder during the time I was there. All of the Canada geese that had been on the Reserve took off and flew in the direction of Radipole water in Weymouth, which is a much more sheltered area.
Onneksi olkoon! Upeat linnut! Täällä ei ole kuin närhiä paljon, ne ilmeisesti muuttaa paikasta toiseen.
ReplyDeleteKiitos Anne. Haluaisin nähdä paljon Jayja yhdessä paikassa.
DeleteExcellent photos. My favorites are the kingfishers and golden plovers.
