Hei Roy! Aivan ihanat perhoset! Täällä sataa ja sataa, on aika viileää! Perhoset ja muut hyönteiset ei lennä. Hyttyset ja mäkäräiset on heti pistämässä kun menee ulos! Ei kivaa!!
Lovely photos as usual Roy. I miss the Peacocks as I have never seen one in the south. I had a go at capturing some in flight recently and failed miserably. Do you use the tracking function when you take yours? I probably didn't have a fast enough speed either (about 1600 to 2000) which got some good pics of bee flies and hummingbird hawkmoths, but the flutters were out of focus. I think also that butterflies move very erratically and of course the two I just mentioned hover when feeding so much easier to capture! I think I need to use my DSLR for the butterflies as I was trying with my Lumix bridge camera for the first time. I shall keep on trying!
Thanks Roy. I'm not sure I can have a speed that fast unless I really up the ISO which may not be so good with my bridge camera. I'll give it a go, also I need to dig out the dslr and try that (though it's been a while and I'll have to remember how to use it!). It's fun trying, anyway.
Beautiful photos of the butterflies. I didn't see many butterflies this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline. Our numbers have increased a little this year, after last year's disaster.

ReplyDeleteKiitos Anne. Täällä on nyt noin 30 astetta lämmintä. Oikea helleaalto.
DeleteYou are doing far better than I am with my butterfly spotting! Beautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Simon.

Thanks Maria. Yes, the Marbled White have retuned in good numbers this year after a bad year last.

ReplyDeleteThanks Mandy. I think you need to set around 4000 speed (TV) and fast repeat on the camera for any Butterflies in flight. Also a wide focus area.
