Cormorants at Rest

There is quite a sizeable colony of Cormorants that have taken up residence in the Parkland where I walk.
When not actually fishing in the three Parkland lakes or adjacent river they spend most of their time perched on favourite branches.
They dry out their feathers from the swim and preen away until they get hungry again.
A coastal bird that has moved inland over more recent years and adopted various suitable places as home where they can regularly find food.

Cormorants, along with in flight Grey Herons, always get me thinking 'prehistoric'...[;o)
