Into the Sunlight

My latest 'Single Image' post.
I was fortunate that this Robin turned his head just as the sun came through the trees.

A Parkland Walk

Some images taken over the last week during my walks in the Parkland.

Canada Goose

Grey Squirrel

Stonechat (Female)

Distant Fieldfares - Not easy to get close to so far.

Grey Heron on take off

Robin

Meadow Pipit (Two images)

Male and Female Goldeneye
Always difficult to get close to. These were out in the middle of a large lake.

This was a male on another day, but still as difficult to get near to.
It would move towards the edge of the lake, but as soon as it noticed you it would move off out into the middle again.

Icelandic Visitor

Walking along the edge of the largest of the three lakes in the Parkland yesterday I was at the time concentrating on taking a few images of the resident Stonechats.
I had not taken any notice of what I assumed was two Mute swans that were on the lake close to the edge, when I heard this unmistakable 'Honking' sound.
One of the swans was in fact a Whooper Swan.
A beautiful graceful bird that is definitely my favourite swan.
It remained for a few hours feeding and it later took off and left the area when I was elsewhere, unfortunately I missed its departure.
