Treecreeper

I found this particular bird in the Woodland where I walk frequently.
Unless you are really studying and on the look out for the Treecreeper, finding them is often pure luck. During this walk I spent about 30 minutes in one place overlooking what appeared favourable trees for this species, nothing showed.

However, I later moved on to another part of the woodland and there he was showing well in the sunshine. The bird moved from one low tree to another and fortunately remained at that level. Normally they will keep moving up tall trees searching for food as they go.

The first image here is one showing the Treecreeper in an upright position which is unusual to see.

  1. My experience with our Brown Creeper is the same. It is a very difficult bird to get because they are quite active and are often high up.

    Very well done.

  5. Super images, Roy. I especially like the last on on the moss and the closeup silhouette about halfway through the series. Just terrific.

  6. Treecreeper is a true high-speed bird. We have been Treecreeper feeding throughout the winter.

  12. Hey Roy... Awesome shots of the intriguing, hard to keep up with little one.
I have had one in a tree not far from my deck most of the winter. I did manage to get a couple of photos, but just found it more interesting to watch him.
