Last Autumn we were fortunate to find a male Stonechat on the Parkland where I visit regularly.
It remained over Winter and as it was quite approachable, was photographed by most of the local Birders and a lot of interested public as well. It left in the Spring of this year and probably headed North to the Summer breeding grounds.
Recently a pair of Stonechat have taken up residence in the same area of the Parkland.
Obviously we can't say its the same male who has found a mate and returned to its wintering ground, but one would like to think so.
