Flooded Meadows

We have recently had a lot of rain in a short period.

The local Canada Geese are enjoying the flooded meadows adjacent to the lakes in the Parkland.
They get to eat the grass and drink at the same time, which means they don't have to keep flying back to the lakes to take on water.
Economy of effort.

Meanwhile the Green eyed Monster is chillaxing by the pool.

When there is nothing else to see it is time for a spot of Gull Shooting.
In this case Black-headed Gulls.

  12. I recorder a total of three inches of rain here for last month. Fortunately it was fairly well spread out so no flooding to speak of.

  14. I love the Black-headed gull. We will get one here as a rarity. Oddly enough, my lifer was in Colorado! Yes, it was so noteworthy that I marked the date as April 14th, 1990 at Union Reservoir on the east side of Boulder County. Fortunately, we were birding with a Physicist who was English, so there was no doubt about it.
